Rother Local Action Plans Support Programme

Rother District Council is sponsoring the current phase of Local Action Planning across Rother.

The Rother Local Action Plans Support Programme commenced on 1 August 2005 and runs until 31 March 2010. Sponsored by the Rother Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) through the use of 2nd Homes Council Tax there is strong Council support for this programme. The Programme has for the past 4 ½ years delivered community development and capacity building support to local communities in the Rother area wishing to consider, develop or implement Local Action Plans.

Local Action Plans (LAPs) pull together community priorities through consultation and detail the actions (e.g. who, when, how) required to address community needs and deliver improvements in the quality of life of localities.

From the 1st April 2010 there will be a limited support programme in place that will be project managed by Rother Voluntary Action and sponsored by Rother District Council and will focus on the implementation of LAPs, namely getting the projects/schemes identified by a particular community up and running. All Towns and Parishes in the district (bar one) have published a LAP, which is a tremendous achievement and these LAPs can be downloaded from this webpage below.
